GROWTH GROUP PHILOSOPHY, PRACTICE AND ORGANIZATION

About Growth Groups

We are here for the community, particularly for people who are not already attending a church. Our motto, "Where Love Grows," expresses our openness to every person. The goal of every growth group at Four Peaks Community Church is to reach out to one another in care, concern and prayer.

Organization

Growth groups are led by peers and are open to everyone.

Growth groups consist of 3-10 people meeting weekly in a home.

Growth groups are designed to expand to one or more additional groups within a year.

Philosophy and Practice

Growth groups are a place for people to connect - with God, and with people.

Growth groups give everyone the opportunity to study and apply God's word in a supportive context.

Growth groups are a place of encouragement and compassion, support and help.

Group members are aware of one another's needs and will "be there" for each other.

Those who are new to Four Peaks are able to find the support and relationships they need.

Each group has an "open chair" where a new person to the church or community is welcome. The idea is to expose those in the community who may or may not be Christians to the love of Christ and give them the opportunity to come to a faith in Christ through their experience in the group.

We desire to live out the "one another's" of the new testament:

Love one another -John 13:34

Serve one another -Galatians 5:13

Encourage one another -Hebrews 10:25

Forgive one another -Ephesians 4:32

Be devoted to one another -Romans 12:10

Pray for one another -James 5:16

Build up one another -Ephesians 4:29

Confess your sins to one another -James 5:16

Honor one another -Romans 12:10

Accept one another -Romans 15:7

Be kind, compassionate to one another -Ephesians 4:32
